National Capital Artisans Shows
For years, National Capital Artisans (NCA) shows have been a highlight of the Ottawa arts community — lively, well attended events that celebrate creativity, craftsmanship, and local talent. These juried shows have earned a strong reputation as must see community events for art lovers and handmade goods enthusiasts alike.
Who Can Participate
If you’re an artisan who creates handcrafted items, you’re welcome to participate in NCA shows — whether or not you’re a current member of the National Capital Artisans. Please note: Businesses with storefronts or staffed retail locations are not eligible to take part in NCA shows. Our focus remains on supporting artisans, independent makers
and artists.
Partnership to Support Mental Health Caregivers
In 2025, NCA proudly announced a new collaboration with the Mental Illness Caregivers’ Association (MICA) to continue hosting the beloved Art in Strathcona Park event.
This annual outdoor art show and fundraiser, held beside the beautiful Rideau River in Strathcona Park, has long supported caregivers of individuals living with mental illness.
When MICA recently faced challenges organizing the event, the NCA Executive stepped forward to ensure the show’s future — continuing its inspiring mission and community impact.
Through this partnership, Art in Strathcona Park will carry on as a celebration of creativity, compassion, and community spirit.
